Printables?
What are printables?
Printables are digital files that you can download and print yourself. Whether it is a coloring page, a paper doll or a craft project - when you’re buying a printable, you’ll have it instantly and the fun can begin right away! You can print them as many times as you want, whenever you want.
In my shop you’ll find different kinds of printables and they are all created to bring some fun and magic into your life - and that of your kids. Color and craft together, use the printables in imaginative play, decorate your home or celebrate the seasons!
Who are the printables for?
I create these paper projects with kids in mind. I love to create a fun activity that will help children get creative, use their hands, make up their own stories and celebrate the small things in life.
But! That is not to say that you cannot join in on the fun! Whether you have kids in your life or not, you have my full permission (and encouragement!) to get crafty yourself. I’m a full grown adult with a mortgage and a kid, but I still love most things that are marketed to children (books, theme parks, toys and much more). So don't let that stop you and treat yourself to a crafty evening.
With the abundance of screens these days, I think making time to actually create something with your hands is such a valuable thing. I hope these printables can provide a wholesome and fun screen free activity for anyone, young and old.
These printables are for anyone who is a kid or a kid at heart. Enjoy!
What can I do with the printables?
All printables are created with a certain specific goal in mind, like a paper doll is used to dress up and play and a garland is used to decorate your home with. But of course you can use the printables however you like. Let your imagination run wild with them, because the possibilities are endless.
Here are some ideas:
- craft and color together or alone
- play by dressing up or use in imaginative play
- play in combination with a sensory table
- decorate your house for a party or specific season
- celebrate the seasons by making a seasonable table
- use in storytelling or make a storytelling table
- use as a party favor or kids party activity
- add to the morning baskets of your little ones
- bring with you on the road or on vacation as a creative activity
- use as an educational or creative activity in the classroom
Who is the illustrator behind this shop?
The printables and digital art in my webshop is all drawn and created by me, Lisa Manuels. I loved to make paper toys as a kid and I still do now! I can pour all my creativity, imagination and love in these little paper projects and I’d love to share them with you and your family.
I also work as a freelance illustrator. You can see more of my work in my portfolio. Do you have any questions about working together? Say hello via info@lisamanuels.com. I'd love to hear from you!
Let's get started!
What do I receive when I buy a printable?
After payment you will receive an e-mail with a link to the digital files.
You will receive the digital PDF files in color and/or black and white (whichever you ordered) and a sheet with instructions.
Also: you will get my gratitude. Thank you for your support, it truly means a lot! I make these illustrated paper crafts with a lot of love and I am so excited for you to use them!
What do I need to get started?
You definitely need:
- the downloaded PDF file
- a printer (or printing service)
- printing paper (preferably sturdy)
- art supplies to color with (when buying a black and white printable)
- scissors
- glue or doublesided tape
You might need:
- cardboard or sturdy paper (or an empty toilet roll)
- split pins
- twine or ribbon
The exact needed materials are listed in the product description of every printable.
There are lots of other creative materials that you can add when you’d like to. From flower petals, leaves or feathers to gouache to stamps or glitter, think outside of the box and get creative!
Which paper do you recommend?
You can use any paper you’d like, but I do recommend paper that is a little sturdier than regular printing paper. Regular printing paper is often around 80 gsm, but I like to use paper that is around 120 gsm. There are different brands that sell drawing paper that you can use in a home printer. This paper is perfect, as they are also great to draw and color on.
If you want to use watercolors or other paints to color the printables, you need to consider that not all paper is suited for that.
If you only have regular printing paper, do not worry! You can always use some leftover cardboard or paper to make your projects a little more sturdy. An empty toilet roll is also great to use as little stands to make your paper dolls stand up.
For printing the colored versions of the printable I like to use a matte photo paper, which really makes the colors pop. But it’s important to note that very thick paper is more difficult to cut with scissors!
My favorite paper to use are these:
Hema foto papier mat
Fabriano artist pack 120 gsm, 160 gsm and 200 gsm - drawing paper
Also fun:
There are lots of other special kinds of paper that you can use when you’re feeling adventurous!
- transfer paper for fabrics or porcelain
- shrink plastic
- temporary tattoo paper
- magnetic paper
- sticker paper
How does it work?
Step 1: Buy the printable, you'll receive an e-mail with a link to your digital files after payment.
Step 2: Download the PDF files and read the instructions.
Step 3: Print the printable on A4 paper of your choice.
Step 4: Color the elements with pencils, crayons or markers. (If you bough a coloring page version.)
Step 5: Cut out all the elements and fold the folding and glue tabs.
Step 6: Assemble the printable with glue, tape, small split pins/brads and/or a piece of string.
Step 7: Time to play, decorate or celebrate!
Can I?
Can I use the printables for my business?
No, they are made for personal use only. I kindly ask you to only use them that way.
The copyright of all images and files remain mine (Lisa Manuels). The printables and digital files cannot be reproduced, sold or shared offline or online by anyone other than myself.
If you have any questions about hiring me as an illustrator or using the printables for a business venture, please send me an email via info@lisamanuels.com. Thank you!
Can I use the printables for my classroom?
You can! I think they would make lovely activities or decorations for a classroom filled with young children. Celebrate the seasons, discuss a certain theme or topic or get creative together.
I'd love to hear (and see, if you have a picture!) if you will use my printables in your classroom.
Can I use the printables for a party?
Sure! You can use the printables for a personal event.
Print them as a fun little activity during a children's birthday party or maybe organize a crafty afternoon with friends to color together!
You can also use them as party favors. Over here in The Netherlands most kids go around the class with a small treat or gift when they celebrate their birthday or when they get a little brother or sister. I think some of the printables would make a cute traktatie (party favor)! You can print them, put them in small paper bags and add a coloring pencil. Or you can assemble them together with your child to make little paper dolls (or other crafts) to share with their friends.
Can I send the printables to a friend?
I would love it if you’d share the link to my shop with a friend when you’re enthusiastic about one of the digital products I made. I put a lot of love, effort and time into these and I can only make more when I sell enough of them to support my business. And I would really, really like to make many more! I have tons of ideas.
So I would kindly ask you not to share the downloaded files with anyone else. Thank you so much for your support!
Sidenote: it’s fine if you want to print multiple copies to use during a personal party or crafty afternoon! You can also print them and use them as little party favors or a gift to someone. That is totally fine.
